The growth of NFTs over the previous year has prompted numerous firms, like Twitter, to integrate nonfungible tokens into their ecosystem. The social media business just revealed that you may now use an NFT that you own as your Twitter profile photo if you have Twitter Blue.
Twitter Blue, a paid membership service launched last year, allows users access to premium and previously undisclosed capabilities such as the ability to modify published tweets, view ad-free news, submit longer videos, and more. NFT Profile Pictures, one of its most recent experimental features, allows iOS users to link their crypto wallet and pick an NFT to submit as their profile picture.

How to Use an NFT as a Twitter Profile Picture
To begin, you must be a paid Twitter Blue user, which costs $3 per month in the United States. To join up, go to Twitter's sidebar and choose the feature. Australia, Canada, and New Zealand also have access to the service.
Once you've signed up for Twitter Blue, you'll need to use an iPhone ($300 at Amazon) to access Twitter because the NFT function is presently only available on iOS. NFT profile photographs will be available for Android and the web in the future, according to the business.
Go to your profile (which you can reach from the side menu) in the Twitter app, and you should get a message about changing your profile image to an NFT. You can obtain the notification by going to the profile of someone who already uses an NFT in this manner.
Do the following now:
- Tap on Choose NFT and then on Connect my wallet.
- Choose the wallet that contains your NFTs, including MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet and Rainbow (if your wallet isn't available, you can't upload your NFT).
- You'll be redirected to your wallet and asked to connect your wallet to Twitter.
- Once the connection is made, you should see your gallery of NFTs.
- Choose an NFT and then resize it as needed.
- Tap on Done to add the NFT as your profile picture.
Your profile photo will now be hexagonal, showing to others that you own a confirmed NFT.
On Twitter, you can see other people's NFTs
If you notice someone else with an NFT as their hexagonal profile photo, you may tap on their profile picture and then select View NFT details to learn more about their NFT.
You will notice the following:
- Verification from OpenSea or any other NFT marketplace.
- NFT creator.
- Current NFT owner.
- NFT collection, along with a summary.
- NFT properties, such as rare traits.
- NFT details like contract address, blockchain, token ID and token standard.
